A single sparse chevron FF1148/1152 packaged Xilinx Virtex™-4 FPGA fitted to the board. Available with a Virtex™-4 device of one of the following types LX40, LX60, LX80, LX100, LX160 or SX55 and speed grades -10, -11, -12.
Optional two banks of DDR2 memory fitted (256/512mbit each). This feature is awaiting testing so do ask for latest status if you need this feature.
Optional 3.3V oscillator.
On board Platform Flash and JTAG. Also advanced programming options from host board.
MOEL BRYN EXPANSION POSITION
Swinyard1 uses a single Moel-Bryn expansion position to connect to the host board. Details of this connector set are available but only under NDA and licensing conditions. The user manual will contain pin connections for Broaddown boards and any other products supporting this interconnect so that suitable connections can be made. Advanced programming solutions from host boards will also be detailed when available.
Moel-Bryn socket provides all necessary power supplies. Capability is mainly determined by the host board power supplies.
BANK I/O VOLTAGES
Individually selectable bank voltages by jumper selection. 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V supported. Other voltages are possible by wire connection to jumper headers. Selectable Vref and DCI support also.
External connecting signals routed as pairs to support LVDS. Up to 180 pairs of LVDS available on Swinyard1 giving up to 180Gbit/s data throughput capability.
Host boards such as Broaddown2 and Broaddown4 can be made in a variety of OVERCOAT options. OVERCOAT is a simple stacking technique of host boards and used to form an array of FPGAs. For more details of OVERCOAT go here.
Swinyard1 can be offered in 6 different base devices in a choice of 3 speed grades making 18 possible options on the base Virtex-4 alone. We also offer cost optimised versions principally for OEM deployment. The Swinyard1 order code is made up as follows:

DERIVATIVE, TURNKEY or MODULE DESIGNS
Swinyard1 can be used as OEM module to add on to lower technology boards to reduce system and manufacturing costs. We are also happy to offer derivative designs of Swinyard1 to customers with special requirements. Please ask for a quote if you are interested in these products and services.
